JEWELLERY CARE

As your cherished and treasured accessories, your Rosenkrantz jewellery deserves the utmost love and care. Understanding how to care for and protect it makes a world of difference in maintaining its beauty and longevity.

  • Jewellery should never be tossed into a drawer or on top of a dresser as this may scratch and damage it, store your jewellery individually in your Rosenkrantz jewellery box to avoid damage

  • When travelling, protect your Rosenkrantz jewellery from scratches or other impact damage by padding it in a separate box or case

  • Sudden temperature changes and excessive heat can fracture some gemstones, heat can easily remove the natural moisture that some gemstones need to keep their beauty

  • Exposure to chemicals can harm some gemstones and damage or discolour precious metals; gold, silver and platinum

Everyday substances like hair sprays, lotion, perfume and/or other cosmetics can contain chemicals that can permanently damage delicate gems like pearls.

To extend the life of your jewellery, you must handle it with love and care. Like all precious jewels, a Rosenkrantz creation is delicate, and we recommend the following guidelines and precautions for use.

Before you wear your jewellery:

  • Check that the fastening on your necklace or bracelet works without any issues,

  • Check the central stones by shaking your jewellery slightly. For the pave, move your finger over the stones. If you hear a faint sound or feel the stones move, we recommend that you not wear your jewellery and get the setting checked.

  • In case of any doubt, we recommend that you do not wear it and contact us for it to be checked over.

When to take off your jewellery:

  • When you wash your hands, apply perfume or use a cream. If particles get lodged in the pavé, they will be difficult to remove and will tarnish your jewellery.

  • For household chores, gardening, or other manual activities: repeated contact with household detergents and corrosive products can damage gold.

  • When you play sport, visit the beach or go swimming. Intense activity can lead to impacts, which can scratch metal and damage claw settings.

Taking care of your jewellery:

Your Rosenkrantz jewellery is precious: any impact or friction can damage it. A diamond can scratch a coloured gem, a piece of metal or another diamond. Despite their durability, gems can break under impact. When you wear your jewellery, avoid any impact or friction as much as possible.

Storing your Jewellery:

  • When it isn’t being worn, your jewellery should be kept in its Rosenkrantz case or wrapped in a soft pouch to protect it from any impact or scratches. Precious jewellery can be scratched when it comes into contact with other jewellery.

  • We recommend only keeping one piece of jewellery in each case to prevent any friction.

  • When you put a chain necklace or bracelet away in its box, always make sure you fasten your jewellery first to prevent any knots.

Cleaning your jewellery:

  • To make the gems on your jewellery sparkle, we recommend scrubbing them gently with a small brush with soft bristles in warm soapy water.

  • This type of cleaning will help remove small dirt and dust particles without damaging your jewellery. If, despite cleaning, your jewellery is tarnished, please contact us.

  • Depending on the condition of your jewellery, our workshop will restore its shine or look into the possibility of new polishing-rhodium plating.

"We want to ensure that you can enjoy your Rosenkrantz jewels for as long as possible. We are always available to give advise on how to maintain, store, size, repair or perhaps re-create your jewelry. Feel free to get in touch with our team for personal advice."
